My Philosophy

My name is Richard Lockett, and I’ve created this site as a means of sharing my work and continuing my passion as a portrait artist. Drawing has always been my  method of expression and for years I’ve enjoyed bringing out someone's personality and soul through different drawing mediums.​
 

Primarily I am a pencil and charcoal artist, and with every picture I task myself with using the subtle contrast associated with pencil to surface the subjects true personality, through their eyes, expression and body language. When it's done right, these pieces last a life time and capture the essence of the people you know so well.
